Inthakhin Festival (Khan Dok)
A Lanna Blessing, Experience the Ancient Art of Floral Offering
At Raya Heritage

2025 May – Chiang Mai, Thailand – Raya Heritage - Inthakhin Festival "Khan Dok" is a significant cultural tradition in Northern Thailand, particularly in the Lanna Region. "Khan Dok" refers to a floral offering tray used to pay homage to sacred objects such as Inthakhin (city pillar), Buddha images, deities, or ancestors. This tradition has been deeply intertwined with the beliefs and way of life of the Lanna people for a long time.

The Inthakhin is the name of “Lak Mueang” (City Pillar) of Chiang Mai. It is said that the pillar was first erected by “King Mengrai” at the founding of the city on 12th April 1296 CE at Sadue Muang Temple and it was brought to its present location inside a shrine on the temple ground of “Chedi Luang” Temple by the Lanna’s king, “Kawila” in 1800 CE.

The festival will take place from 23rd – 29th May 2025 at Chedi Luang Temple
(just 5-minute walk from Tamarind Village Hotel)

How to participate in the festival with respect:
