THE POETRY OF FLOW & FORM
A dual collection by Chatrawee Thongnak and Rujiraporn Techathep at Raya Heritage

4th December 2025 - Chiang Mai, Thailand – This season, Him Gong Curated Craft at Raya Heritage presents a contemplative pairing of works by two female artists whose practices honour the quiet poetry of northern materials: textile artist Chatrawee “Rawee” Thongnak and Lampang-based ceramic designer Rujiraporn “Pui” Techathep, founder of Earth & Fire.

Minimal, tactile, and deeply rooted in place, the collection creates an intimate dialogue between silk and clay, water and earth, memory and material. Set within Raya Heritage’s serene riverside setting – where craft traditions breathe into contemporary life – the presentation reflects the sensitivity and material intuition that guide both artists who work with intuition, patience, and deep cultural memory.

At the centre is Journey of the Waters at Raya, Rawee’s cascading textile installation. Using natural fibres and plant-based dyes – from fallen teak leaves gathered on the property to indigo and riverbank pigments – she shapes cloth into soft, shifting currents reminiscent of the Ping River. These textiles continue into the dining setting below, where naturally dyed placemats and runners echo Lanna’s riverside dining rituals through tone, texture, and handcrafted simplicity. “Each colour carries a season, a memory, a breath of the land,” Rawee notes.

In dialogue with these fluid forms are Pui’s contemplative ceramics. Raised in Thailand’s historic ceramic capital, she shapes clay into warm, organic vessels – tableware, sculptural pieces, and décor – formed through the elemental interplay of hand and fire. Irregular textures, natural silhouettes, and a wabi-sabi sensibility speak to the beauty of imperfection and the stories held within the earth. “Clay remembers every touch. It holds the moments we shape,” she reflects.

Together, the works of Rawee and Pui transform Him Gong: Curated Craft into a serene passage: silk suspended like flowing water in motion above, clay grounded like the land below. This dual collection invites visitors to pause, observe, and reconnect with the elemental forces – movement and stillness, permanence and impermanence – that define northern life and craft.

The collection will be on display and to purchase from 4th December 2025 - 31st March 2026. Open daily 8:00 – 18:00 hrs. at Him Gong Curated Craft, Raya Heritage
